November 21, 2024 (Rancho San Diego) – The Water Conservation Garden at Cuyamaca College celebrated its 25th anniversary on November 9 with a free celebration commemorating a quarter century of educating the public on water conservation and more.
Visitors filled the garden to savor opportunities to learn about water conservation from experts and shop for water-wise plants (photo, right).
Children enjoyed activities including encounters with animals such as rabbits, snakes and a falcon.
You could even adopt a tortoise or a turtle!

Some children enjoyed moments of quiet contemplation in picturesque garden and waterscape settings, while grownups visited booths to learn more about water conservation and water-wise landscaping tips.
Visitors also shopped in a revamped garden gift shop for hand-made garden treasures, and stopped by booths from community organizations, such as the Mt. Helix Park Foundation. (Photos, below.)
Another highlight was the Butterfly Pavillion, where visitors could see chrysallises and newly hatched butterflies spreading their wings. (Photos, below.)
